The short-legged frog hobble-hopped in last place.

The great hoping frogs where showing off there hoping power and bragging:

"I can hop higher then you"

"I can out spring all of you"

"No, I can" These gabbing frogs bragged on and on and on.

When they came to a cross path they were so busy showing off and quarreling they hopped high, right over the race course sign.

They were going the wrong way.

The short legged frog came upon the sign and shouted after the bragging frogs, "Hey, the sign says to hop this way!"
